My current build with 3/4 steel tubing..everything in the build so far is reclaimed material I already have on hand..

Going with 3/4 aquare tubing the v2 printed parts still fit frame very well. I'm going with self drilling screws for where the printed part attach to frame.if that fails i'll drill all the way thru and bolt..

I salvaged the leadscrews from an old garage door opener, its 1/2 or +/-13mm..the chrome guide rods are from an old printer..

Looking great!

If you want to keep going with reclaimed/on-hand material on the shafting, let me know and I can resize the printed parts as needed for different bearings or shaft diameters. Same goes with the motor and screw nut mounts.

Thank you for the offer, i'll keep it in mind for later. I Had to reprint the spindle cradle in PLA, ABS shrunk too far couldn't mate to bracket or get spindle in...Most of my chromed guide rods are 10mm & 1/2" so I used solidworks to design 3d
printable sleeves to fill the difference or lathe them down on the end to fit bearings and mounts. I still like the idea of linear rails, but I don't have any on hand.. I had some outside projects going in shop this weekend, maybe get back to my build tomarrow..

Staying with my reuse/repurchase build I search thingiverse and found enough printable linear slide designed to use 3/4 square tubing for my y-axis, and printable rount 10mm linear bearings for my x bed brackets..will be printing today and tomorrow checking different designs, and test fitting..3/4 steel tubing frame 450mmx450mm Screen12

Updating my 3/4 tubing build...did all custom design work on my x axis brackets and linear bearings..still having issues with lead screws, I can't seem to cut the threads right..might just go to the old stand by and use 1/2 all thread rod and weld some flanges on 1/2 nuts..
